Like I mentioned in the Author comment, we're nearing Linko Man's first birthday, which will be 7-14-08. No, I'm not going to pull some bullshit celebration strip, but I probably will update on that day. And maybe say something. Idk. I do too few strips a year; making a whole birthday strip is just going to remind me of that and depress me.
Today's comic no one will take my advice and read is Potluck
by Tenor. I know what you're thinking. "Only eight comics, Linko? You think that's all it takes for a comic to prove itself? That's just crazy talk." Yeah, but the reason I'm praising it is because Tenor originally did a comic based on The Legend of Zelda: The Four Swords called Freelancers about a band of incompetent combatants for hire. Thirty six comics and sixty four fans in, however, he was still keen on his concept, but he wanted to execute it differently - not with a bunch of generic recolors with little individual personality, but with a whole new set of characters in a new situation. A gutsy move when you've already hooked so many fans on your other comic, but I approve and support his decision.
Anyway, I don't know what to say about Potluck/Freelancers other than that Tenor has a handle on comedic situations. It's funny stuff, the characters are very likable and interact very well, and the man sprites actiony battles with a fierce talent. I hope Potluck goes everywhere Freelancers was promising to take us.
Man, I'm running out of comics to praise. I have to go find more.
